Sourcing and research
We continuously study the properties and blending behavior of bio-oils, and hold esterification capability in-house.
ISCC EU Certified · Trader
We reconnect the residues and by-products scattered across industry through data, technology and operating systems — securing the feedstock, then designing and supplying to the specification our customers require.
How we work
Rather than pushing a single product, we accumulate property and blending data across a range of bio-feedstocks. When a customer brings us their requirement, we design to that specification and supply it.
We continuously study the properties and blending behavior of bio-oils, and hold esterification capability in-house.
Customers across chemicals, energy and mobility bring us the conditions the bio-oil they need has to meet.
We design a bio-oil optimized to that specification and supply it. The know-how accumulated stays protected as portfolio.
Why MODU Trading
From farms in Mongolia to refining assets in Malaysia and buyers in Europe — all within one certified supply chain.
Local partner structures across Mongolia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore let us secure feedstock directly.
Property and greenhouse-gas data are accumulated per feedstock, so blends can be designed to a customer's specification.
Our ISCC EU Trader certification under RED III allows compliant trade with buyers who require EU specifications.
We design the structures that return residues to feedstock. MODU serves as secretariat of the Korea Sustainable Circular Alliance.
Feedstock portfolio
We do not depend on a single feedstock. Property and greenhouse-gas data are accumulated for each one and used as the basis for blend design.

Currently underway
We report stages of progress, not promises.

In collaboration with Jaewon Frontier Sdn. Bhd. at Sendayan Techvalley, Malaysia, we are preparing cardanol production at a scale of 3,000 MT per month, with offtake under discussion with global majors.

We are developing a lubricant base oil through ester synthesis from medium-chain fatty acid oil, with hydrolytic stability as the core point of differentiation.

Mongolian inedible tallow is traded within the ISCC EU certified supply chain, broadening our trading base with global biofuel buyers.

A tripartite MOU has been signed with farm partners in eastern Mongolia, laying the groundwork for local crushing around HEAR and LEAR rapeseed varieties.
2026 → 2030
We do not sell oil.
We build the future of bio-carbon.
We start in trading, move down into processing, and rise into formulation — each stage building the assets the next one needs. By 2030 our aim is to be the reference point for bio-oil supply in Asia.
From the CEO
I took my first steps in this industry more than thirty years ago at Samsung C&T's chemicals division. Since then I have worked through ExxonMobil, Methanex and Interchem Singapore, and served as the Korean sole agent for gasoline components on behalf of a global top-tier commodity trading house.
Standing at the center of the energy and chemical industry for that long, I saw the benefits it brought. I also stood closer than most to the burden it placed on the environment. My own turn began with that uncomfortable question.
In 2016 I moved into the environmental business myself, to build a healthier industrial structure and a sustainable flow of resources. That is how MODU Trading's circular-resource and renewable-energy platform came to be.
MODU Trading reconnects resources that would otherwise be discarded and converts them into new energy and value. From industrial waste streams to bio-oils and upcycled materials, we work to bind separated resources into a single circular ecosystem, and to help build a sustainable future for Asia.
As a responsible industry professional, and as an environmental entrepreneur, I will continue to build the technology, the operations and the partnerships that a better tomorrow requires.
